1. Introduction

2. Rental Service

Bookit London provides books for temporary rental use, including but not limited to film productions, television productions, theatre, photography, styling, events, and commercial shoots.

All books remain the property of Bookit London at all times unless explicitly stated otherwise.

3. Rental Period

Customers may rent books for custom rental periods agreed at checkout or through direct communication with Bookit London.

Books must be returned by the agreed return date.

Failure to return books on time may result in late fees or deductions from the customer's deposit.

4. Deposits

A refundable deposit is required for each rented book.

Deposits are used to protect against:

  • Damage
  • Loss
  • Theft
  • Excessive wear
  • Late returns
  • Unauthorised alterations

Deposit amounts may vary depending on the item.

5. Damaged Items

Customers are responsible for returning books in the same condition they were received.

If books are returned damaged:

  • A percentage of the deposit may be retained depending on the severity of the damage
  • Damage assessments are determined reasonably by Bookit London

Examples of damage include:

  • Torn or marked pages
  • Water damage
  • Broken spines
  • Writing/highlighting
  • Damaged covers or dust jackets
  • Excessive wear beyond normal use

6. Lost or Unreturned Items

If a rented item is lost, stolen, or not returned:

  • The customer may forfeit the full deposit for that item
  • Additional charges may apply if the deposit does not cover replacement value or associated costs

7. Late Returns

Late returns may result in deductions from the customer's deposit.

The percentage deducted may vary depending on:

  • Length of delay
  • Impact on future bookings
  • Operational costs caused by the delay

Bookit London reserves the right to charge additional fees for significantly overdue returns.

8. Alterations & Modifications

Customers must not alter, damage, modify, paint, cut, write in, distress, remove pages from, or otherwise modify books in any way unless prior written permission has been granted by Bookit London.

Any unauthorised alterations may result in partial or full loss of deposit and additional charges where necessary.

9. Shipping & Returns

Bookit London currently ships within the United Kingdom only.

Customers are responsible for ensuring all shipping information entered during checkout is accurate and complete.

Return instructions and/or return labels may be provided depending on the order.

Bookit London is not responsible for delays caused by:

  • Couriers
  • Weather
  • Incorrect customer information
  • Circumstances outside reasonable control

10. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Handle rented items with reasonable care
  • Store books safely and appropriately
  • Return items on time
  • Use books lawfully and responsibly

Customers are responsible for all rented items while in their possession.

11. Order Refusal & Cancellation

12. Liability
